March 2011

This year appears to be having many missing residents of the hospital being reported.
Police seeking Riverview patient
And another article from The NOW, which has a better picture
Cao Phan is a Forensic Psychiatric Services patient, be careful!

UPDATE! Cao Phan, has been located, according to the RCMP website.

Vancouver Archives has a Flickr page, devoted to W.J. Moore's panoramic photos.
They have put a large format one of West Lawn in there. Stunning!

I have transcribed the First annual report of the Botanical Office of the Province of British Columbia.
By John Davidson, aka "Botany John". Published in 1914, it now lives forever in the Internet Archives.
The botanical garden is a 100 years old next year, it was first at Essondale from 1912-1916, when it was moved to Point Grey, todays UBC Botanical garden

That really is a good picture of the West Lawns. Do you know if the number of patients going missing has increased? Or has it decreased a certain amount?
